Sad times when losing a pet. High cost but mostly for emergencies. I just wish they had more compassion toward people who can't pay the full amount for putting their animal down. They wouldn't even let us hold our poor sweet Tigger as she passed.

My dog was having a cluster of seizures. 3 seizures prior to arrival. 6 to 8 hour wait just to talk to vet. No immediate help to stop the seizures. Referred me to their facility in Matthews NC. Contacted them 6 to 8 hour wait. Dog needed immediate attention to stop the seizures. Carolina Veterinary Specialist were no help at all. Found help at Urgent Pet Care and at a 24 hour clinic in Greensboro NC.

Hate this place! Understaffed, wait time is ridiculous. This is supposed to be for emergencies, but they pick and choose which one is most severe. It's like dogs get special treatment. My cat had 3 seizures after waiting 5 hours and watching dog after dog come in and taken back. Finally our turn came after a change in staff. Didn't do anything for my cat except 2 different types of medication, no Xray, no bloodwork, no explanation of why he was all of a sudden having seizures. Oh but that would be another 1500 to keep him and another 1700 for a neurological exam. They wanted to keep him and keep an eye on him and let him sleep off the sedation at no charge. Went back to get him the next morning paid over $600 for 2 types of medication and of course they had changed staff so no one could answer any questions. He had gotten sick and messed himself in his cage, so how was that keeping an eye on him? 😡 He was probably placed in a room and forgot about until I went back the next day. I Paid the money and in 2 days my precious little sweet rescue passed away. I realize after seeing so many animals and long hours day after day, a vet could get numb and tend to stop caring as much. I feel that was the case with my cat. No one seemed to care. Maybe you could've done some bloodwork or maybe a more thorough exam or even gave me a call after a day to check on him instead of worrying so much about money. Please don't send me your generic letter of sympathy, it is not heartfelt or sincere. Best thing I can do is Never recommend this place to anyone and Never Ever Go Back!

A 6-8 hour wait should be disclosed at the time of check in so that pets in pain can be taken elsewhere.
